A very important point that I learned some years ago is this;
It is alright to slip during our attempts to improve.
Just as a guided missle doesn’t fly to its target in a straight line, so it is with us. The guided missle is continuously making corrections to its course. It starts to drift right and a small correction gets it back on course. It drifts left and another correction steers it closer to the target. We are the same in that regard.
The point is not to become discouraged when you get off course.
- Measure where you are.
- Calculate where you want to go.
- Make the appropriate correction.
Don’t beat yourself up when all that is required is a simple course correction.
